Dover Sea School is a RYA recognised Practical and Theory Sea School now based at Ramsgate Royal Harbour in Kent -- 14 miles North of Dover -- 50 miles South of central London -- 25 miles from France and Calais. We are in the Isle of Thanet on the Southern tip of Kent and the Eastern corner of the Thames Estuary, on the South East corner of the United Kingdom.
We have been teaching sea school students for over 35 years now and have been an RYA recognised sea school since 1985.
Our Ramsgate Harbour marina Unit can offer all the RYA theory courses in our harbour classroom and offer the RYA interactive theory courses online.
The practical course section of our school teaches all of the RYA motorcruiser, and sportsboat schemes. We use displacement Dutch steel motorcruisers plus a selection of other motorcruisers.
For the Sportsboat practical courses we usually use our RIB - "Deep Six Two" - which is a fully equipped 6.5 metre RIB fitted with a 250 Hp mercury Optimax,
We can offer Own Boat Tuition where it is required and we do Yacht & Motorcruiser Deliveries throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Our instructors are all RYA DoT qualified skippers with Commercial Endorsements.
If you need mileage building experience we can offer an assortment of 60 plus nautical mile passages for your logbook building entries and the sea time certification required before your can take your Yachtmaster exams.
Tuition can usually be given to owners and/or their crews during deliveries if required
The Harbour unit is our RYA Theory classroom and sea school office.

"Sea Satin" an 11 metre Flybridge Dutch steel Pedro
"WestWinds" a classic twin engined 14 metre Flybridge Cruiser
"Deep Six Too" our Ocean 6.5metre RIB with a 250HP Mercury Optimax
